New B. Com. students attend Orientation Program

 

Aligarh : The newly admitted Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) students were briefed on course requirements, satisfactory progress, reference materials, disciplinary procedures and the university culture in an online Orientation Program of the Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

In the opening remarks, the Chairman, Department of Commerce, Prof Nawab Ali Khan encouraged the new undergraduate students to tap into their potential and to think out-of-the box.

“Motivation is the key factor for success and students should always remain enthusiastic about learning, working hard, and pushing them to excel”, he said urging students to embark on the next step in their educational journey with a spirit of exploration, new ideas and alternative ways of thinking.

Prof Mohd Wasim Ali (AMU Proctor) spoke on the importance of discipline and explained the code of conduct.

Hard work and dedication will help students to achieve their goals, he stressed.

Prof Mohd Shamim introduced the students with the various methods of teaching in higher education and briefed them about different learning activities they will undertake.

He also gave a presentation of the Departmental webpage.

Prof Asiya Chaudhary discussed academics and job prospects available for under graduates and presented the roadmap for their careers.

Professor Naiyer Asif (Deputy Dean, Student’s Welfare) provided the students with information on scholarships they can avail as rewards for academic achievements and gave an overview of the residential life at the campus.

He also motivated students to get connected with the Games Committee, General Education Centre and other facilities at the campus.
