New Batch of Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) Commences at the Central University of Kerala

Kasaragod: The second batch of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) commenced at the Central University of Kerala (CUK). The university introduced the four-year integrated programmes last academic year as part of the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The programmes offered include B.Sc. B.Ed (Physics, Zoology), B.A. B.Ed (English, Economics), and B.Com. B.Ed.

The inauguration of the new batch was conducted by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (i/c) Prof. Vincent Mathew, who addressed the attendees on the importance of the multidisciplinary approach advocated by the NEP 2020. He noted that the university has been following the guidelines of the policy since its introduction.

Dean Academic, Prof. Amruth G. Kumar, presided over the event. Registrar Dr. M. Muralidharan Nambiar, Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Rajendra Pilankatta, and Prof. Mohamedunni Elias Musthafa also spoke at the event. The Head of the Department of Education, Prof. V.P. Joshith welcomed the new batch, and Assistant Professor Dr. Majnu Perumbil delivered the vote of thanks. The event was attended by students, parents, and faculty members. An orientation program will be organized for the students in the coming days.
