New Business Administration students attend orientation
Aligarh : Newly admitted students to Business Administration courses, Faculty of Management Studies and Research, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) were given an overview of academic expectations to prepare them for challenges of collegiate academics in the Orientation Program held on November 3.
Prof Salma Ahmed (Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Research) urged them to make the best use of facilities for getting trained in all fundamental domains of business administration.
“The Faculty of Management Studies provides the students with a conducive environment to dream big and encourages them to put in the best efforts”, she said in the welcome address.
Apprising students with the thrust areas of all faculty members, Prof Jamal A Farooquie (Chairman, Department of Business Administration) said, “The teachers will provide students with the necessary corporate insights and develop their knowledge and skills”.
He pressed the need for development of communication and aptitude with classroom and activity oriented learning”.
Prof Javaid Akhter spoke on the history of the Department of Business Administration and the Frank and Debbie Islam Management Complex and highlighted contributions of senior teachers and alumni.
Prof Mohammad Israrul Haque apprised students with the curriculum and ordinances and discussed the best ways for credit points, availing internships and writing dissertations.
Prof Valeed Ahmad Ansari spoke about the abundant study and research material available at the Maulana Azad Library of the university and at the Seminar Library of the Department of Business Administration.
Prof Parvaiz Talib talked about the Frank and Debbie Islam Entrepreneurship and Incubation Centre and entrepreneurial activities at the Department.
Prof Ayesha Farooq encouraged students to participate in extra-curricular activities for personality development, Prof Feza Tabassum Azmi stressed on the mandatory requirement of industry internship for professional careers and Prof Saboohi Nasim (Training and Placement Coordinator) made the new students familiar with the activities of the Training and Placement Cell.
Dr Asad Rehman extended the vote of thanks and Dr Ahmad Faraz Khan conducted the programme.
