New issue of Quranic Studies journal released
Aligarh: The K A Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University released the latest issue of its e-publication, Aligarh Journal of Quranic Studies, which consists of 14 articles, review essays and book reviews on diverse themes related to the holy Quran and Quranic Studies.
The issue features among other papers, a translated paper, “Zaynab Al-Ghazali’s Vindication of the Quranic Verse on Women (Al-Nisa 4: 34)” and book review, “From Darkness into Light: Life and Works of Mawlana Abdul Majid Daryabadi (1892-1977)” by Professor A R Kidwai.
The contributors to this issue include Firdosa Akhter, Mohammad Teisir Bin Shah Goolfee, Fauzia Maraam, Neha, Sajid Shaffi, Gowhar Quadir Wani, Safiur Rahman Nadvi, Rafique Ahmad Rais Salafi, Dr Mohammad Mubeen Saleem (all from AMU), Ali Muhammad Bhat (IUST, Kashmir), Mushtaq Ul Haq Ahmad Sikander, (Kashmir), Juneefa Bilal (University of Kashmir) and Owais Manzoor Dar (Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi). They belong to different disciplines, including Quranic Studies, Islamic Studies and Arabic and hail from AMU, Islamic Institute of Technology, Kashmir, Jamia Millia Islamia and the University of Kashmir. They also include five women contributors that shows journal’s intent on gender parity.
