New Kendriya Vidyalaya to start on Central University of Punjab Campus in November 2023

Bathinda : Residents of Bathinda District have a reason to rejoice as the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi has announced the approval of Ministry of Education, GOI for starting a New Kendriya Vidyalaya in the campus of CU Punjab, Bathinda. The new KV will begin with classes I to V from 2023-24 academic year, for which admission process will be made in offline mode. This will be the fifth Kendriya Vidyalaya in Bathinda district.

The newly established Kendriya Vidyalaya at Central University of Punjab (KVCUP) has released the admissions schedule for Classes I to V for current session (2023-24). The registration period is open from November 6 to 20, 2023. The registration forms can be downloaded from official KVS website (https://kvsangathan.nic.in/). Selection will be done as per KV norms, with preference given to the wards of the CU Punjab employees, followed by civilians.

This school operates will operate in project mode with Central University of Punjab bearing expenditure related to infrastructure and salaries for KV staff, with financial support from Ministry of Education. Every year, one new higher class will be added. Mr. Anil Kumar has been appointed as the In-charge Principal at KVCUP, and other teachers and KV staff are being deputed by Regional Office, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Chandigarh.

Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, the Vice-Chancellor, CUPB, expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for establishing Kendriya Vidyalaya on the CU Punjab campus. The university had previously proposed establishment of a KV on its campus as faculty and staff members had to send their child to schools 20-30 km away from campus. He expressed hope that the establishment of KV on the university campus would meet the educational needs of children of employees as well as residents of Bathinda District.

Prof. Tiwari highlighted that the university administration is committed to provide necessary amenities at KVCUP to support the delivery of quality education and foster the development of talent, enthusiasm and creativity among its students.

Mr. Anil Kumar, In-charge Principal, mentioned that the interested parents could visit the Kendriya Vidyalaya building on the Central University of Punjab campus for the registration purposes.
