New office bearers elected for the Former Faculty Association

ALIGARH :  Dr. S. Mohsin Raza has been appointed as the Patron, Prof. C. V. Singh as the President, Prof. Haris Manzoor Khan as the Vice President, Prof. Mobarak Hossein as the Secretary General and Prof. Arshad Hafeez Khan as the Treasurer of the Former Faculty Association (FFA), JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University. The election took place at its general body meeting held in the Committee Room at the Faculty of Medicine, which was chaired by Prof. L. M. Bariar, with Prof. M. Khalid A. Sherwani as the Secretary General.

On this occasion, Prof. Syed Ziaur Rahman delivered a lecture on “Unwanted and Unexpected Drug Reactions: From Minor to Life-Threatening” highlighting that the JNMC is one of the oldest institutions in India to participate in national ADR reporting, and it is celebrating 35 years of such reporting in 2024.

He also discussed JNMC’s pivotal role in banning the use of Nimesulide in paediatrics suspensions and drops from the market, as well as the inclusion of Fluconazole in the Patient Information Leaflet as a cause of hyperpigmentation.

Several former faculty members including Dr. Vijay Pal, Prof. M. Amanullah Khan, Prof. Shamim Jahan Rizvi, Prof. Rana Sherwani, Prof. Shamshad Hussain, Prof. Shahid Ali Siddiqui, Prof. Zubair A. Khan, Prof. M. U. Rabbani, Prof. Haroon Subhan Khan, Prof. Ali Amir and Prof. Mohd Zahid attended the programme.
