New Office Bearers of Jamia Teachers’ Association (JTA) elected

New Delhi:Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) teachers elected Prof. Majid Jamil as President, Prof. Nafis Ahmad as   Vice President and Dr. Mohammad Irfan Qureshi as Secretary of the Jamia Teachers’ Association(JTA). Prof. Majid Jamil and Dr. Mohammad Irfan Qureshi were Secretary and Joint Secretary respectively in the outgoing JTA. Other JTA office-bearers elected are Dr. Saiqa Ikram as Joint Secretary and Dr. Arif Mohammad as Treasurer.
Dr. Rajan Patel, Dr. Shikha Kapur, Dr. Mohsin Ali, Dr. Mohammad Saleem, Dr. Seeme Murtaza, Dr. Qazi Mohammed Usman, Dr. Asheref Illiyan and Dr. Ikbal Ali have been selected as Executive Committee Members of the new association.
Elections for Jamia Teachers’ Association (JTA) were held yesterday, strictly following all
COVID-19 protocol. A total of 76% turnout of voters was recorded and counting of votes
continued till late evening. Prof Arvinder A. Ansari was the Returning Officer for JTA Election 2020.
Prof. Majid Jamil was elected to the post of President by defeating Prof. SAM Rizvi. Prof. Nafis Ahmad defeated Dr. Veeramani and Prof. Manaullah for the post of Vice President.
In a close contest for the post of Secretary Dr. Mohammad Irfan Qureshi defeated Prof. Musheer Ahmad.
Dr. Saiqa Ikram defeated Prof. Saba Khan and Dr. Mukesh Mirotha for the post of Joint
Secretary and Dr. Arif Mohammad defeated Dr. DK Dhusia for the post of Treasurer.
