New Specialty Center to Open Near Former Century III Mall

UPMC’s state-of-the-art facility located at the former Toys-r-Us site at 275 Clairton Boulevard, will open December 1. The 46,000-square-foot multi-specialty clinic brings more than 20 patient-centered outpatient services to the Route 51 corridor.

Each year, over 188,000 patients—or, about 500 per day—who live in communities near Route 51 choose to be treated by UPMC clinicians as inpatients, outpatients or on an emergency basis.

“This demonstrates a clear majority of residents in these neighborhoods have already chosen UPMC physicians and facilities as their preferred providers for their health care,” said Mark O’Hern, president, UPMC East and UPMC McKeesport. “An established goal in serving our communities is to make it as easy as possible for patients to obtain the high-quality care and services they need close to home, conveniently and efficiently.”

Services available include outpatient surgery, UPMC Magee-Womens Specialty Services, heart and vascular, diagnostic imaging and UPMC Children’s Express Care—UPMC’s after-hours pediatric urgent care clinic. The UPMC Outpatient Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The full list of specialties and services provided can be found on the clinic’s website UPMC.com/ClairtonBlvdOPC.

The new outpatient facility complements UPMC’s efforts to address the increasing number of patients from the surrounding area seeking high-quality care. In 2019, UPMC opened a new 9,810-square-foot Urgent Care and Primary Care facility located at Southland Shopping Center in Pleasant Hills, and the West Mifflin Outpatient Center at 1907 Lebanon Church Road opened in 2013.
