New Tourism Foundation to Promote Tourism Education Through ‘Tourism Students Festival 2020’

New Delhi: New Tourism Foundation, a non-profit registered body, recently announced the launch of the inaugural edition of Tourism Students Festival (TSF’20). The two-day virtual event will be organized on the 16th and 17th October 2020. The event aims to achieve the larger goal of bringing industry, academia and students of tourism into the mainstream for accelerating growth of tourism in the country.

TSF’ 20 will see two days of power packed activity with Indian and foreign tourism students engaging with stalwarts in the field from the Government, Industry and Academia. The Festival aims to bring forth the high potential, innovative ideas and bright minds of Students and Young Professionals into Travel, Tourism and Hospitality areas and infuse new energy and confidence within the young minds for making them more resilient to deal with the new global order.

Attendees can look forward to insightful sessions on relevant topics such as Skilling for New Normal, Community and Sustainable Tourism, Leisure Tourism, Technology in Tourism, MICE Tourism, Destination Marketing, Tourism Journalism, Tourism Research, Adventure and Sports Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Gastronomy Tourism, Entrepreneurship and Startups.

Speaking about the event , Vinod Zutshi, IAS (Retd), Former Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India,President New Tourism Foundation and Chairman, TSF’20, said, “TSF’20 will be an apt platform, to help students of the sector to deal with their new challenges, to find solutions for their new skill requirement and to create more job opportunities through Government-industry-student-academia interface”.

According to Ms Jyoti Mayal, Co-Chairperson TSF’20 and President TAAI, “TSF’20 is the much needed initiative, as the industry prepares for the new normal in tourism. A student academia led interface with industry will empower the travel professionals of tomorrow”.

“TSF’20 will transform the future of tourism by empowering the young minds and inspiring them to lead tourism to a new direction” said Prateek Hira, MD Tornos and  Co-Chairman TSF’20.

Tourism Students Festival 2020,  aims to explore all possible measures by all stakeholders, to build a new ecosystem for tourism education and skilling; find solutions for new skill sets; create more job opportunities; and rebuild confidence of tourism students and budding young professionals in the industry.

The Speakers at the Event will comprise Government officials from the Tourism department, thought leaders of travel, tourism and hospitality industry, faculty from tourism education institutions and young professionals. There will also be lively sessions by college bands, stand-up comics, folk music ensemble and studio theatre, all on a single virtual platform.

Tourism Students Festival has been given ‘Incredible India’ Logo Support by Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India. . The event is supported  by TAAI, ITDC, OTOAI, ADTOI, ATOAI, RTSOI, Public Relations Society of India and URJA as ‘Thought Partners’.  Galgotia University, Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management and Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University are the Supporting Institutions and Le Meridien, Pride Hotels and 5th Element Hospitality are the F & B Partners of  TSF’20.
