New type of dictionary “Syntactic Dictionary of Russian Poetry”

On October 22, a webinar “A new type of dictionary:” A syntactic dictionary of Russian poetry “was held, organized by the editorial board of the journal” Russian language at school “as part of the seminar” Actual problems of studying and teaching the Russian language in the modern world “, working in 2021 under the auspices of teachers of the Russian society language and literature.
The webinar was hosted by Natalya Viktorovna Patroeva, Doctor of Philology, Head of the Russian Language Department at Petrozavodsk State University. She presented the work of the design team of the Russian Language Department of Petrozavodsk State University, related to the creation of a database of the syntactic dictionary of classical Russian poetry, revealed research methods and the procedure for processing grammatical and textual material. The first two volumes of the “Syntactic Dictionary of Russian Poetry” were published by the publishing house “Dmitry Bulanin” in 2017 and 2019. in St. Petersburg.

In the report of N.V. Patroeva, aspects of the description of sentences present in the “Syntactic Dictionary of Russian Poetry” were presented in detail, the structure of the dictionary was considered, examples of tables with syntactic contexts and their analysis were given, as well as summarizing statistical data obtained in the course of analyzing the work of poets were proposed. -classics (among them – A.D. Kantemir, V.K. Trediakovsky, M.V. Lomonosov, A.P. Sumarokov, M.M. Kheraskov, G.R. Derzhavin, A.P. Radishchev, N. M. Karamzin, I. I. Dmitriev).

The report aroused great interest among the scientific community; colleagues assessed the work done as a colossal work, contributing to the development of syntactic science, and expressed their hope for the continuation of work on the creation of new volumes of the “Syntactic Dictionary of Russian Poetry”.
