New Unani Medicine graduate and postgraduate students attend White Coat Ceremony
Aligarh : The newly admitted undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) marked their transition to clinical health sciences and various specialties in the recently held White Coat Ceremony at the Kennedy Auditorium.
Presiding over the function jointly organised by the Faculty of Unani Medicine and Junior Doctor’s Association (JDA); AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Mohammad Gulrez said: “Choosing health service as a profession means a lifetime commitment as it involves years of study, hard work, long shifts and unpredictable working hours”.
“The white coat ceremony is a beautiful tradition that cements the commitment of students to learn and practice ethical medicine”, emphasised the Chief Guest, Mohammed Nadeem Hussain (CEO, Marque Impex Pvt Ltd, Moradabad).
Administrating the ‘Hippocratic Oath’, Prof F S Sherani (Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine) urged the new students to treat the sick to the best of their ability, preserve patient privacy, teach the secrets of medicine to the next generation and abide with the doctor’s societal responsibilities.
Prof Shagufta Aleem (Principal, A K Tibbiya College) extended the vote of thanks.
Faculty members Dr Jamal Azmat, Dr Farooq Ahmad Dar, Dr Ammar Ibne Anwar, Dr Abdul Aziz Khan, Dr Diwan Israr, Dr Mohammad Anas and Dr Huma Noor with JDA Office bearers, Dr Nawalur Rehman Khan (President), Dr Fazlur Rehman (Secretary), Dr Sadaf Firdaus (Vice President), Dr Safia Usmani (Finance Secretary) and Dr Maaz Ahmad (Joint Secretary) were also honored with white coats.
Dr Mohd Anas, Dr Farooq Ahmad Dar and Dr Abdul Aziz Khan conducted the programme.
