New York-Based St. John’s University Partners with BrainGain Magazine to Launch First-Ever Summer Program for High School Students

New Delhi: St. John’s University, one of America’s top universities for ethnic diversity located in New York City, has launched its Global Innovators Academy (GIA) Summer Program for international high school students aged 15-18 years. St. John’s  has partnered with BrainGain Magazine, the world’s leading higher education and study abroad magazine, to invite applications for the summer program, which will take place from 16 June to 26 June, 2018 on its Queens campus. Limited seats are available, so students are encouraged to apply early. The deadline for accepting applications for the GIA Summer Program is May 15, 2018.

The Global Innovators Academy will organize daily workshops for the students to educate them on the nature and genesis of innovation, with a focus on New York City as an innovation incubator. The program brings students to St. John’s University to learn about innovation, particularly about big data and how that drives innovation. The participants will also be coached in effective public speaking and presentation skills. The lectures will be given by faculty from St. John’s College of Professional Studies. In addition to this, the program is enriched by extracurricular activities which include community service, excursions to some of New York City’s many cultural landmarks like Rockefeller Center and the Empire State Building, to name a few, and on-campus team-building activities. Students will be awarded certificates from the St. John’s Global Innovators Academy upon the successful completion of the program.

Christina Quartararo, Executive Director at St. John’s University says, “We really appreciate BrainGain Magazine’s commitment to providing reliable data and information to students so that they can make an informed decision about studying abroad. It’s a very big decision to study abroad and we feel it’s important to have tools to research extensively about it. We are very confident about working with BrainGain for the Global Innovators Academy, as we trust the information they share with students. St. John’s GIA is a 10-day program that focuses on innovation and provides the students with the opportunity to meet a diverse range of people and faculty that can help them increase their network. The program offers a unique experience as it’s based in New York City, giving the students access to everything the city has to offer. It will not only provide them with a unique university experience, but also help them strengthen their resumes.”

For nearly 150 years, St. John’s University has had a global reputation for excellence and celebrating diversity through a rich value-based education. Its faculty ranks among The Princeton Review’s top 300 professors in the U.S.

Since 2015, BrainGain Magazine has partnered with leading global universities to bring high school students from over 35 countries to U.S. campuses for an immersive summer program that provides an excellent learning and orientation to college life. We aim to expand our partnership with more and more universities for such programs.”
