Newcastle University announces scholarship schemes to extend support to international students

 Newcastle University is pleased to extend its prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence and Vice-Chancellor’s Global Scholarship schemes to international students. The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships will provide successful international applicants with up to 100% of tuition fee coverage, with the total amounts varying between individual schemes.

With an additional institutional investment of half a million GBP, the funding underlines the University’s continued commitment to supporting and attracting the best and brightest students from across the world to study for their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Newcastle.

Professor Richard Davies, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, of Global and Sustainability, at Newcastle University, said: “Our students come from more than 170 countries around the world and contribute to the cultural and intellectual life of the university and the city, positively enriching the international experience for the whole community.

Scholarships Schemes Outline:

The university is offering four scholarships under the scholarship schemes. These include:

Eligibility:

  • Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship (Undergraduate study) & Vice-Chancellor’s Global Scholarship (Undergraduate study): Indian applicants must hold an offer for an eligible undergraduate degree programme at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2024/25 academic year and already have or expect to receive a minimum of ABB at A level or equivalent.
  • Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship (Postgraduate study) & Vice-Chancellor’s Global Scholarship (Postgraduate study): Indian applicants must hold an offer for an eligible Master’s degree programme at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2024/25 academic year and already have or expect to receive the equivalent of an upper second-class UK honours degree or above.

Application Timeline:

The scholarships are now open for students who looking to start their studies in September 2024.

The last date of application deadline for the Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship (undergraduate) and Vice-Chancellor’s Global Scholarship (Undergraduate study) is 9th May 2024 and the deadline for the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship (Postgraduate study) and Vice-Chancellor’s Global Scholarship (Postgraduate study) is 6th June 2024.
