NIE’s DaemonHunters secures 2nd place at Deloitte TechnoUtsav
Mysore: The National Institute of Engineering’s, Mysore Team DaemonHunters emerged second runners-up of Deloitte TechnoUtsav CCTV (Collegiate Cyber Threat Competition) to bag a cash prize of One lakh rupees and a trophy.
The three-member team included Vishruth, Anirudh and Karen from the Information Science Engineering department.
TechnoUtsav CCTC was conducted across 60 campuses through a series of online rounds and challenges for over a month and the top 10 teams were invited for the grand finale at Deloitte’s Hyderabad campus where the main focus was to engage students in practical cyber challenges and at the same time they were exposed to some of the world-class processes and technologies that enable Deloitte to provide transparency, efficiency, and productivity on a daily basis.
Expressing their delight, the team captain Vishruth said: “The competition was a unique experience for the team. While providing a platform to showcase our skills, ‘Deloitte Techno Utsav’ also helped us get exposure to real-time challenges of cybersecurity. The opportunity to interact with leading executives from the industry helped us attain knowledge of the risks involved in cyberspace. Also, the chance to meet like-minded people with the same enthusiasm cheered us all up.”
The finale comprised three elimination based gamification rounds to test the skills of students as a cyber-security specialist. They were exposed to real-time challenges related to cybersecurity and information security where they worked as a cyber-Incident response and the top four teams had to present their solutions and ideas for a major cyber-attack case to Deloitte leaders in the stage event.
