NIIT University (NU) conducts an engaging Induction Programme for New Students – NU RESONANCE 2023
Established with a vision to bring about innovation in higher education and learning in emerging areas of the knowledge society, the University of the Future, NIIT University (NU) conducted an engaging Induction Programme Resonance for the new batch of 2023.
The Induction Programme served as an official start of the academic year for the incoming students. The event provided an opportunity for them to connect with their peers, faculty, and college staff, fostering a sense of belonging and community right from the beginning of their college journey.
This year’s Induction Programme on Saturday 29th July 2023 featured as keynote speaker, Dr Ajay Mathur, Director General of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) who is renowned for his expertise in the energy and sustainability realms.
Dr Mathur is an authority in the global sustainability and climate change fraternity. He was formerly the Director General of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and the Director General of India’s Bureau of Energy Efficiency. He has been a member of the Indian Prime Minister’s Council on Climate Change. He was also a member of a global group of industrial, financial and think-tank leaders to co-chair the Energy Transitions Commission to suggest ways for companies and countries to move towards climate-friendly energy futures. The highlight of the Induction Programme was the keynote address by Dr Mathur.
Known for his expertise and insightful perspective, keynote speaker Dr Mathur addressed the audience for 30 minutes and shared his valuable insights and experiences with the new students, inspiring and motivating them to excel in their chosen paths. He talked about his journey and his vast experience across the energy and sustainability realms to help students understand the importance of sustainability imperatives in the rapidly evolving environment across sectors.
During the induction programme, students got an opportunity to learn more about the college’s curriculum, support services, extracurricular activities, and campus facilities. Various interactive sessions, workshops, and presentations were conducted to provide guidance on course selection, career development, and ways to make the most of their time in the college. Additionally, there were campus tours, ice-breaking activities, and team-building exercises to foster a sense of community and promote networking among the new students.
The induction programme has been designed to ensure that incoming students have a smooth transition into college life and feel empowered to take on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The college believes in providing a holistic education experience that not only focuses on academic excellence but also nurtures personal and professional growth.
