NIIT University (NU) educators from Rajasthan deliberate upon innovative teaching learning methodologies in school education

 

New Delhi, 1st March, 2021: Established with a vision to bring about innovation in higher education and learning in emerging areas of the knowledge society, the not-for-profit NIIT University (NU) hosted a virtual panel discussion – Innovation in Digital Learning: the NEP perspective. School educators from Rajasthan attended the panel and discussed about innovation in digital learning with a fresh perspective on how NEP will affect education. The panel was addressed by Dr. K. Kasturirangan, the former chief of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), current Chairperson of NIIT University and author of the NEP, who deliberated on the future of education.

 

Dr. K. Kasturirangan, former chief of ISRO, current Chairperson of NIIT University and the author of NEP said, “NEP 2020 brings in a centrality in our education system that follows through all stages be it school or higher education. NEP encourages of ease of curriculum and pedagogy will thus aid in real understanding and learning for students. Holistic education will integrate all disciplines and thereby empower students, building a better learning model.”

 

Mr. Rajendra Pawar, Founder NU, Chairman & Co-Founder, NIIT Group presented the opening statement. There was an engaging discussion amongst prominent educators from Rajasthan, Lt Gen (retd) Surendra Kulkarni and Mr. Sanjay Datta along with NU Leadership Vijay K. Thadani, Co-founder NU, Vice Chairman & MD, NIIT Ltd, Prof Parimal Mandke, Acting President NU and Maj Gen A K Singh (Retd), Chief Operations Officer & Dean Student Affairs NU about disruption in the education sector that COVID has brought forth, and how NEP 2020 is a welcome change in the right direction were highlights of the discussion.

 

The event attempted to initiate a conversation between senior educationists reflecting on how the new normal has impacted the teaching learning methodologies and how the educators have been at forefront trying to constantly to adapt to the new system and turning challenges into opportunities. The panel talked about how NEP will positively impact education going forward.

 

Mr. Rajendra Pawar, Founder of NU, Chairman & Co-Founder, NIIT Group said, “The connect of NIIT University with Rajasthan has been deep and old. Through this discussion we aim to bring about change in our home state Rajasthan, considering how COVID-19 has affected education. It is a means to discuss how technology needs to be incorporated in Universities across the state, making them high-touch as well as hi-tech.”
