NIT Andhra Pradesh conducts awareness programme on B.Tech. Admission Process

Admission to the B.Tech. programmes will be conducted through the JoSAA/CSAB-2021; The last date to apply is 25th October 2021

TADEPALLIGUDEM : National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh has called for applications for its B.Tech. courses. The Institute offers B.Tech. degree in eight engineering departments. The last date to apply through JoSAA-2021 is 25th October 2021.

In this academic year, NIT Andhra Pradesh has increased the number of seats from 600 to 750. Seats for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) has been introduced as per the Government of India norms.

NIT Andhra Pradesh organized a virtual awareness programme on 20th October 2021 during which Prof. C.S.P. Rao, Director, NIT Andhra Pradesh, presented about an overview of the Institute. Candidates were briefed on how to enter their choices carefully to get seat as per their preferences.

Prof. T. Kurmayya presented about the academic curriculum of the B.Tech. programmes. Detail about the choice filling procedure, and Do & Don’ts regarding the counselling process and prospectus to select NIT Andhra Pradesh were discussed by Dr. Tapas Paramanik, Associate Dean (Admissions and Scholarships), NIT Andhra Pradesh. Participants’ queries were also clarified. Around 500 participants attended the programme through online mode.

Highlighting the unique aspects of B.Tech. program at NIT Andhra Pradesh, Prof. C.S.P. Rao, Director, NIT Andhra Pradesh, said, “NIT Andhra Pradesh offers B.Tech. programmes in the utmost demanding domains of engineering. Specialized faculty members with excellent academic and research background are devoted to cater the need of training the students for becoming competent engineers, scientists and entrepreneurs.”

Further, Prof. CSP Rao said, “NIT Andhra is giving emphasis mainly on skill development and innovative thinking. The students are getting engaged with the mentors, PhD scholars and the postgraduate students to implement innovative project works. The training and placement section is dedicatedly engaged to mold the students for securing job in reputed companies with good package. In last three years record number of students have secured job through campus interviewsThe permanent campus of the Institute has already been established with 172.6 acres of land adjacent to Chennai- Kolkata Highway (NH-16) in the air-strip lands of Tadepalligudem. The institute has been fully running from the permanent campus since the A.Y.2019-20.”

The Admission for the B.Tech. courses will be conducted through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)-2021 and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)-2021, based on the JEE(Mains) results. The centralized counselling process of seats through JoSAA has provided a platform wherein the candidates can register and fill their choices to get admission in IITs, NITs and Centrally funded Institutions.

The registration and choice filling has started from 16th October, 2021 and the candidate should lock their choices by 25th October, 2021 evening (5PM), failing which the last saved choices provided by the candidates will be locked automatically.

Two mock seat allocation results will be published on 22nd and 24th October, 2021. Seat allocation results of 1st round of counselling will be published on 27th October, 2021. The candidates who will receive seat in the 1st round should pay the requisite fees, upload the required documents for the online verification process and respond to the queries by 31st October, 2021.

Successively total five more rounds of counselling will be conducted through JoSAA which will end by 24th November 2021. Special rounds of the counselling will be conducted by Central Seat Allocation Board for the admission to the NITs after completion of the JOSAA rounds.

NIT Andhra Pradesh is having 150 seats each in Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering, 125 seats in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 120 seats in Mechanical Engineering, 100 seats in Civil Engineering, 35 seats each in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.

Detailed seat matrix is available on the Institute website www.nitandhra.ac.in . Half of the seats are reserved for the candidates from Andhra Pradesh (completed intermediate/ +2 from Andhra Pradesh) and other seats are for the candidates from the other states.
