NIT, Rourkela organizes a workshop on Unnat Bharat Aviyan

Rourkela: National Institute of Technology, Rourkela organizes a first regional workshop on ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’ (UBA) for the state of Odisha. Inaugurating the event director professor Animesh Biswas said, ” The Mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth.
It also aims to create a bridge between society and an inclusive academic system by providing knowledge and practices for emerging professions. We all have a social responsibility. We all should work for social cause” said the director. Registrar professor Pradeep Kumar Das told, ” Involvement of people is important in the development process. UBA gives the right platform to share the actual knowledge gained technical institutions to the field as required, mainly for rural areas.
This transformation can be achieved through a motivated team who are energetic, knowledgeable and have a complete orientation to fulfill the goal of this program,” stated the registrar. The chairman of UBA professor Mahabir Panda talked about the mission and vision of UBA . He said, ”NIT Rourkela is actively working towards improving the quality of rural life through innovative and affordable technological interventions. Some of the issues we are trying to address like improvement in skill development for unemployed youth, quality of school education, agriculture, sanitation, health care, awareness towards digital India, renewable energy use, basic infrastructure, plantation, and self-reliance. I hope with all your support we can achieve our goal”, said professor Panda. The nodal officer and the convenor of UBA professor Raj Kishore Patel focused on the importance of health, sanitation, livelihoods in the rural area.
He told, ” Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India. NIT Rourkela is trying to support people to achieve better living conditions”, said the professor. In the end, the orientation program professor Patel gave the vote of thanks. Convenor of UAB professor P. Balasubramaniam coordinated the event. During this event professor, Animesh Biswas unveiled the website of ‘NIT Rourkela Unnat Bharat Aviyan’. Participants from 16 institutes across Odisha attended the Orientation program.
