Samba: Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor, Nitishwar Kumar, today conducted a tour of Samba district and inspected the proposed sites for establishment of District Youth Centre under Mission Youth Jammu and Kashmir, besides reviewing functioning of District Employment and Counseling Centre
Chief Executive Officer, Mission Youth J&K, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah accompanied the Principal Secretary during the visit.
The DYC’s have been conceived to be spaces for providing state-of-the-art facilities in modern plush ambiences for the youth to facilitate actualizing their unique skill and potential. These multipurpose utilities have been proposed to be the fulcrum of activities in Mission Youth going to be implemented in the entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pertinent to mention that the Lieutenant Governor had launched this prestigious initiative on 31st of October 2020 at SKICC Srinagar also chairing a day long workshop for strategizing the modalities for youth engagement and outreach in J&K.
MY J&K will work ambitiously in six different themes of livelihood generation, skill development/education, counseling (Psycho-social and career), financial assistance, recreation and sports.
Principal Secretary instructed the officers for registration of all unemployed youth of the area and stressed on linking youngsters to employment opportunities in Industrial establishments and business houses.
SSP Samba, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur; Assistant Director Employment Samba and other officers were present on the occasion.
