Established in 2007, SDSOS blends an industry-oriented curriculum and a unique learning methodology to develop expert professionals who possess the skills necessary to succeed in the modern and highly-dynamic world of science. The young and accomplished faculty at SDSOS all possess Ph.D.s, and have extensive post-doctoral research experience at reputed foreign universities.

Dr. Neetin Desai, Dean, Sunandan Divatia School of Science, noted, “In recent years, information technology has proliferated and instrumentation techniques have evolved to a high degree of sophistication. When juxtaposed against the advances and new discoveries in science, what we see is a blurring of boundaries between its traditionally separate sub-domains. This has given rise to a need for technically-adept professionals capable of multidimensional scientific thought. At NMIMS, we recognize the changing demands of the industry and focus on providing education that equips students to step into the gap and lead the scientific brigade of the future. We train students to be self-motivated, and help hone their curiosity, creativity and analytical skills, empowering them to acquire learning in the Socratic way – through rational inquiry, painstaking research and in-depth analysis.”

Elaborating further, Dr. Neetin Desai, Dean, Sunandan Divatia School of Science, added, “At SDSOS, our mission is to develop the capabilities of our students so that they can contribute to improving socio-economic conditions, and can add value through innovative ideas. We offer a collegial and diverse academic environment to students, and the quality of our academic offerings is recognized across academia as well as the industry. Our state-of-the-art infrastructure facilitates access to a vast compendium of resources, and empowers students to engage in cutting-edge research and innovation, mentored by our eminent and experienced faculty, and prepares them for successful careers in the global science arena.”
