No case of Mucormycosis in district, situation being monitored on daily basis: DC Doda
Doda: Deputy Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma, today said that the district administration and health care system is fully prepared to deal with black fungus, even as no case has been reported from any part of the district so far.
Responding to media queries about the threat posed by Mucormycosis (Black fungus) amid Covid pandemic, here at media briefing , he said “At present no such case has been reported from the district and the situation is being monitored on daily bases. Mass awareness has been disseminated through social and other media about symptoms and precautions on the Mucormycosis epidemic.”
He further added that the situation in the district is satisfactory and appreciated the role of frontline workers, NGOs and media persons for supporting administration in overall Covid-19 management in the district.
He briefed the media about the current Covid-19 situation, status of vaccination of target groups, and preparedness of the health care system in the district to deal with Black fungus (Mucormycosis) epidemic. He informed that at present there are 1101 active covid cases out of which only 64 are symptomatic.
About setting up of Covid-19 care centres at Panchayat level, it was informed that locations for the same have been identified in all the 237 Panchayats, while staff has been deployed with one medical officer for five such centres. The beds are being mobilised and all centres shall be made functional in three to four days, he said.
He further informed that time for partially permissible activities in the district has been changed & new timing shall be 7am to 11am from tomorrow onwards.
On Vaccination, he added that there was no shortage of vaccination and the vaccination sites have been increased to facilitate the targeted age groups in getting their doses at nearest stations.
“Moreover the vaccination camps have been shifted to the areas where the administration is receiving demand,” he informed.
