Noida International University hosts debut edition of alumni gathering ‘Sangam 2022’

Greater Noida Noida International University (NIU), North India’s leading education institution, hosted a stellar afternoon of its first-ever alumni meeting ‘Sangam 2022’ at its campus here. The placement committee of NIU organised the gathering, which saw the presence of more than 100 alumni across batches to celebrate and remember their precious moments as student.

 

The graduates from various departments of the university gathered to rejoice and reflect on their experiences as university students. The alumni, who attended the meet were placed in reputed organisations in India as corporate executives, medical experts and start-up specialists. They recounted their entrepreneurial and corporate journeys while working with MNCs like Google, Rolls Royce and PWC and in various media houses like Zee Media.

 

The event, which kicked off with a lamp lighting ceremony followed by Saraswati Vandana, was graced by Vice Chancellor- Prof (Dr) Uma Bhardwaj; Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Prasanjeet Kumar and Registrar- Dr Mukesh Parashar.

 

“We don’t want to give you any lectures today. The networking of alumni is essential for any organisation. This is not going to be the first and last time. Alumni meet is a continuous process and NIU will organise it every year. This is how our alumni are going to help their juniors also,” said Prof (Dr) Uma Bhardwaj, Vice Chancellor, Noida International University.

 

While extending his warm welcome, Prof. (Dr.) Prasanjeet Kumar, Pro-Vice Chancellor, NIU, “Sangam was organised with a deep purpose of walking down memory lane. It’s a good time to meet friends and teachers. NIU is looking  for the precious experience of alumni to enhance present students’ knowledge.”

A special cultural event was organised for the alumni, where they not only bonded with their  batchmates but also with their juniors. All faculty members collaborated to make the event a success.

Sharing their memories of their time at the college, Abhishek Dwivedi, former student of School of Technology, said, “I graduated from the School of Engineering in 2018 in civil engineering. The university inculcated the sense of entrepreneurship in me right from the beginning. I worked with many tech startups before starting my own seed funded startup at the age of 26. My aim is to put NIU on a global map.”

Nigeria-born Sheho, the former student of the School of Allied Sciences, highlighted how the highly compassionate faculty members never let him missed him his home and country. He shared that whenever he fell ill, his teachers always took care of all his needs and supported him throughout his graduation years.

Another former student stated how NIU provided them plethora of opportunities. “Please enjoy the moments you spend in NIU,” she added.

The event concluded with the distribution of mementoes to the alumni.
