North Zone Day 3: BSBAU Lucknow wins by 1 run

Aligarh: In a nail-biting finish BSBAU Lucknow edged past GADVAS University, Ludhiana at the Athletics’ Ground in AMU, today.

BSBA University, Lucknow managed win from the jaws of defeat due to accurate and aggressive bowling attack backed with quality fielding. Batting first BSBA University could manage 123 runs on the score board with steady knocks from Ankit scoring 64 off 59 balls.

GADVAS University started well but lost momentum in the middle over due to sharp fielding and wicket to wicket bowling by BSBAU. Shivam who bowled the last over did the maximum damage conceding only 4 runs in the last over and redistricted the opposition at 122 for the loss of 6 wickets. His overall figure is 1 for 16.

For GADVASU Dr Anmol grabbed 3 wickets for 23 runs, Mahipal and Prabhank scored 28 and 26 runs respectively.

In another match played at Willingdon Pavilion; DBRA University, Agra defeated CCSHA University, Hisar by 4 wickets. Chasing a total of 73 runs DBRA surpassed the score in 17.2; major contributors were Yogesh 27 runs and Waqar 24 not out. For CCSHAU, Abhishek scored 19 and Sandeep scored 18 runs.

Nilesh caused the doom for CCSHAU who finished with figure of 4 for 12.

Match played at 10+2 ground, IG University Meerpur, Riwasi defeated Bundel-khand University, Jhansi by 6 wickets

The result of other matches played today are as follows; Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla lost to Guru Jambhehwar University, Hisar by 35 runs

Kumaon University, Nainital lost to Teerthankar Mahaveer University, Moradabad by one wicket

SGGSW University, Fategarh Sahab lost to Lovely Professional University, Paghwara by 173 runs
