Nowshera forest division conducts series of plantation drives

 

JAMMU : A drive under the theme “One Beat Guard One Village” was today conducted at village Patrara of Sunderbani Range. Rajinder Sharma, DDC member Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar, Additional District Development Commissioner Sunderbani, Yash Pal Sharma Sarpanch Patrara, Rakesh Kumar Panch and a number of villagers took part in the drive. Beat Guard Langer Pawan Kumar conducted the drive with the help of Block Forest Officer Sunderbani, S.Rangeel Singh and other staff members.

Rakesh Verma Range Officer Sunderbani, threw light on the one beat guard one village programme which was overwhelmingly welcomed by the villagers as well as DDC Sunderbani as well as ADC Sunderbani.

ADC Sunderbani said that this programme will create a bond between administration, PRIs and Forest department and described it as a welcome step by the Forest Department.

A number of fruit, medicinal and fodder plants were planted on the occasion. Plants and seed balls of grass and fruits were also distributed among the participants.

Another Plantation drive under One beat guard one village programme was held at Bandrai village , in which Sarpanch, Pooja Devi along with Panch Priya Devi and other PRI members, members of BMC, staff members of Education Department and a large number of locals actively participated in plantation of different species of plants in the village. Plants and seedballs of different species of fruit, fodder and timber were also distributed among participants. The drive was conducted by Raghav Prasher Beat Guard Makol.

Another Plantation drive under One beat guard one village programme was held at Hathal village, in which Sarpanch, Monika along with Panch Balak Ram and other PRIs members, members of BMC, staff members of Government Primary Health Centre Upper Hathal and a large number of locals participated actively. The plants of different species were planted in the premises of Government PHC Upper Hathal and Government Girls Middle School Upper Hathal. Besides this, plants along with seed balls of different species of fruit, fodder and timber were also distributed among participants.

Similarly, a plantation drive, under J&K Green Drive, was held at Government High School Behnigala located at Block Kangri, near Bhajwal in which Naib Sarpanch, Champa Devi Ward Member Bal Krishan and other PRI members along with Locals and School children participated. Plants and seed balls of different species of fodder and timber have also been distributed among the participants.

Another plantation drive under J&K Green Dive was held at village Brevi in which sarpanch Brevi Dogar Nath Naib Sarpanch Om Parkash Panches and locals of village Brevi actively participated. Plantation of medicinal and fodder plants were undertaken which was followed by distribution of seed balls of different varieties. People overwhelming received the seed balls and also demanded more seed balls especially of grasses and fruit trees.

The drives were conducted under the direct supervision of B. Mohandas, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri and Suresh Manda Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera.
