SHOPIAN : The National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) Shopian today conducted an orientation programme on capacity building of Self Help Group (SHG) members on Gender sensitization at Chakoora, here.

The capacity building was conducted with prime focus at Model Cluster Level Federation (MCLF) Chakoora in which participants were sensitized on various aspects of Gender with core belief that gender sensitization and social action should be mainstreamed at all levels of Community Based Organisations (CBOs) which will in turn lead to achieve sustainable social, economic and political development.

During the orientation programme, District Programme Manager Financial Inclusion, Irfan Basheer highlighted the essence of equality within the realms of participants and disseminated information on building institutions which support women towards gaining Identity.

Further, the orientation programme was followed by organising rallies within the contours of the community in order to sensitise the society in which they are carrying out their day to day activities.

It is worth mentioning that PRI-CBO programmes will be the part of this drive and it will be carried in all 14 Village Level Organisations of this MCLF Chakoora with the ambit to have maximum participation of NRLM members and also to have their capacity building to access the services of One Stop Center (OSC), Mahila Shakti Kedra (MSK), Integrated Child Protection Services (ICPS), District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in the district.
