NSEFI Granted ECOSOC Special Consultative Status

 

 

Hyderabad : The National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) Chaired by Mr. Kataru Ravi Kumar Reddy announced that it been granted special consultative status by United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Consultative status with ECOSOC empowers NSEFI to actively interact with ECOSOC, its subsidiary bodies, the Human Rights Council, certain General Assembly sessions, other intergovernmental bodies, and the UN Secretariat. Also, this will provide the organisation with the privilege to access United Nations meetings, provide written and oral statements to ECOSOC, use UN facilities including submitting a quadrennial report on the activities of the organisation, in support of the work of ECOSOC and the UN.

 

Kataru Ravi Kumar Reddy, chairman of NSEFI comments: “This is a rare privilege extended to the Indian renewable industry and a global recognition of India’s prowess and achievements in promoting renewable energy and combating climate change.”
