NTPC School of Business conducts Capacity Building Programme for SAARC Countries

New Delhi : NTPC School of Business (NSB) is conducting a capacity building programme on ‘Cross Border Electricity Trade’ for SAARC Countries. The virtual programme commenced on May 17th 2022 and will continue till May 26th 2022.
The programme is being supported by Asian Development Bank and SAARC secretariat.
The programme delves into various aspects of CBET including policy, regulatory, pricing and market development in the South-Asian region. It also focuses on global best practices and infrastructure development aspects. The capacity building programme aims to enhance participants’ understanding of Cross Border Electricity Trade (CBET).

Emphasizing NSB’s commitment towards contributing towards capacity building in energy sector, Dr. K. S. Bandyopadhyay, Project Investigator said, “Enhanced understanding of Cross Border Electricity Trade among South Asian countries will strengthen renewable deployment besides improving quality and reliability of power supply in the region.”

The workshop received participation of more than fifty officials across seven SAARC countries and SAARC Energy Centre.
