Nukkad Natak on POSHAN presented at Gandoh village
DODA : To create awareness among tribal people and with the aim to eradicate the problem of malnutrition among them, a Nukkad Natak and cultural programme in Gojri and Kashmiri was organised by NHM, Tribal affairs department in collaboration with District Information Centre Doda, at the tribal hamlet of Bangrao Gandoh.
The POSHAN Abhiyaan is the Union Government’s flagship Programme to attain malnutrition free India by 2022. The Abhiyaan aims at creating awareness on the importance of holistic development and adequate nutrition for pregnant women, nursing mothers and children.
In the Nukkad Natak, the artists conveyed how to prevent and reduce stunting, undernutrition (underweight prevalence) and anemia among young children, women and adolescent girls and reduce Low Birth Weight (LBW).
The Tribal population of the area applauded efforts of the Government and artists and appreciated the impact full initiative taken by NHM J&K, Tribal Research Institute J&K and DIPR.
The programme was attended by BDC Chairman Gandoh Gh Abass Rather; Tehsildar Gandoh Irshad Ahmed, besides Cultural Ambassadors of Cultural cell education department Nighat Naz, Jamat Ali, Aijaz Wani, Anganwadi workers, Helpers, Asha Workers students and local tribal men and women.
