NYK Anantnag organizes District level Youth Parliament at GDC Kulgam
KULGAM : Nehru Yuva Kendra Anantnag in collaboration with District Administration Kulgam today organized the District Level Neighborhood Youth Parliament Programme under National Young Leadership (NYLP) Scheme for ‘Celebration of India’s G20 presidency with the theme of, Vasudeva Kutumabakam and one Earth, One Family, One Future here at Government degree college Kulgam.
District Development Council, Chairperson Kulgam was the Chief Guest on the occasion and DDC member Kulgam Ghulam Mohi ud Din and Dr. Manzoor Ahmad lone Principal Government Degree College Kulgam were the Guest of Honour.
The organizers of the programme said that the objective of the programme is to develop leadership qualities among youth so as to enable them to realize their full potential and contribute in the National building process.
It also aims to motivate youth to strive for excellence in their respective fields and bring them to the forefront of the developmental process and seeks to harness the immense youth energy for national-building.
While speaking on the occasion, DDC Chairperson highlighted the importance and celebration of G20 presidency. He appreciated NYK Anantnag for organizing such programmes for youth engagement in the district.
Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Lone, Principal Government Degree College, Kulgam praised the NYK for its works and grossroots approach. He said India’s G20 presidency is a uniquely “Indian and Global South” multilateral event in recent history.
He continued that Youth of Kulgam must wholeheartedly participate in this “Maha- Yagya” of Nation Building.
Mohammad Khalil Mir, Deputy Director NYK Anantnag elaborated on importance of celebration of G20 presidency under District Neighborhood Youth Parliament at Kulgam.
Large number of youth hailing from Youth Clubs, Mahila Mandal Degree College Kulgam, social workers participated with great enthusiasm and speakers expressed their view points on important development issues including Future of work, Industry 4.0, Innovation and 21st century skills, Climate change and Disaster Risk Reduction, Peace building and reconciliation etc.
