NYK hosts District Youth Convention programme at GDC Udhampur

 

UDHAMPUR :  As part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav and generate awareness on PM’s financial inclusion schemes, Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with District Administration organized a “District Youth Convention” here at Government Degree College Udhampur.

Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib was the chief guest on the occasion.

The programme started with the lightening of the traditional lamp by Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib; Principal GDC Udhampur, Subash Chander Sharma; District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta; Assistant Director (Employment), Priyanka Gupta, DYSSO, Swarn Singh and DYO, Khushal Gupta. It was followed by Saraswati Vandana and welcome address by Khushal Gupta.

In her address, the Deputy Commissioner urged the participant youth to make the best use of opportunities they come across. She focused on the role of SWOT analysis in the life of today’s youth. She applauded the NYK for bringing the youth under one platform and to encourage them to take the best from such programmes and spread the information among rural people. She also focused on women empowerment and urged the girls to become self dependent.

The DSWO spoke about various youth centric schemes of the Social Welfare department.

The AD (Employment) focused on Mission Youth and urged the female participants to get registered under Tejaswini Scheme. She further advised them to register their name with the District Employment & Counselling Center.

Dr. Priyanka Gupta, nominee of CMO Udhampur also attended the programme and delivered an awareness lecture on Ayushman Bharat.

The DYSSO also spoke on Sansad Khel Spardha and applauded the initiatives being taken by the central government. Dr. Rippy Bawa (Programme Officer NSS) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Pankaj Sharma also gave awareness lectures.

Earlier in his welcome address, the DYO Khushal Gupta welcomed the Chief Guest and resource persons from all development departments. He focused on the initiatives undertaken by NYK Udhampur in spreading awareness of various campaigns. More than 120 young participants participated In the district level event.
