NYK organises District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament at GDC Doda

Doda : Nehru Yuva Kendra, Doda organized District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament in collaboration with the NSS unit of the GDC Doda.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Khushal Gupta (District Youth Officer, NYK) and Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal (Principal, GDC Doda).
In this programme, Sh. Dhananter Singh Kotwal, Hon’ble Chairman and Miss. Sangeeta Rani Bhagat, Hon’ble Vice-Chairperson, DDC Doda graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively.
Other prominent guests who were present in the program included Dr. Sushant Mahajan (AD Employment, Doda), Mohd. Ashraf Wani (DIO, Doda), Mir Salahuddin (District Culture Officer, Doda), Dr. Anita Kotwal (HoD Philosophy, GDC Doda), Piyush Singh (PO JK Bank Main Branch Doda), representatives of Government Polytechnic College, Khellani and ITI Doda; Sarpanches, and PRI’s of different panchayats of the district; Youth clubs members; NSS volunteers, cadets and students of GDC Doda; students of Govt. Boys HSS Doda, and students of ITI college.
The resource persons shared their valuable thoughts on different schemes like Tejaswini, Mission Youth and various other schemes for social and financial inclusion being run by the government. The NSS volunteers and NCC cadets of the college shared their views on different flagship programmes of the Government of India like Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Digital India etc.
The proceedings of the event were conducted by Prof. Zain Batt, NCC CTO (Naval wing), GDC Doda.
The main objective of the programme was to create an institutional platform right up to the village level, where the youth can articulate their views on various issues and draw the attention of the local administration to such issues/ concerns affecting their lives.
Secondly, it was to develop a platform of youth clubs in the shape of vibrant ‘Neighbourhood Youth Parliament’ so as to educate the youth club members about contemporary socio-economic development issues confronting local communities in general and the youth in particular and to involve them in debates/ discussions on such issues.
DDC Chairman appreciated the efforts of NYK Doda and said that youth participating in such type of programmes must share their experiences and ideas; and debate upon various issues concerning the society and youth in particular for better understanding and their overall development.
The event ended with formal vote of thanks by Khushal Gupta, District Youth Officer, NYK Doda.
