NYK organises district level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament at GDC Doda

 

DODA : District level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament’ was today organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, here at Government Degree College Doda.

Dhananter Singh Kotwal DDC Chairperson Doda was the Chief Guest and Sangeeta Rani Bhagat, vice Chairperson of the Council was the guest of honour at the event organised under the guidance of Khushal Gupta (DYO)NYK.

Other guests present in the program included DIO Doda, principal GDC Doda, AD employment, District Culture officer, Superintendent ITI Doda, Prof(Dr) Sumit Kotwal, Prof(Dr) Anita Kotwal. Prof. Zain Butt, PO JK bank Main Branch Doda, Representative of Government Polytechnic College Kheelani, Sarpanches, and PRIs, Youth clubs members, Students of GDC Doda, Govt. Boys HSS and ITI.

The main objective of the programme was to create an institutional platform right up to the village level, where the youth can articulate their views on various issues and draw the attention of the local administration to the issues/ concerns affecting their lives, besides to present a platform to youth clubs members in the form of ‘Neighbourhood Youth Parliament’ to involve them in debates, discussions and educate them about contemporary socio-economic development issues confronting local communities in general and the youth in particular.

The DDC Chairman appreciated the efforts of NYK and said that such types of programmes provide youth an opportunity to share their experiences and ideas and debate the issues concerning the society and youth in particular.

He further said that such programmes are also aimed at strengthening and enhancing the existing network of Youth Clubs and Mahila Mandals with representation from all sections of society for inclusive growth of the society.
