NYU Ranks Among Top 10 Institutions for Selected Fulbright Students
New York University is among the top 10 nation-wide in the selection of Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholars this year, the U.S. State Department program announced today.
NYU finished tied for 8th in the number of students chosen for Fulbright scholarships.
In the 2023-24 academic year, a total of 27 NYU students and alumni were chosen, making the university a Fulbright “Top Producing Institution” for the eighth-consecutive year. Top-producing institutions among research universities are those who have had at least 10 grantees selected for the Fulbright program.
“Fulbright’s 2023-24 Top Producing Institutions represent the diversity of America’s higher education community,” said Lee Satterfield, Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs. “Dedicated administrators, faculty, and advisors support students and scholars to fulfill their potential and rise to address tomorrow’s global challenges through the Fulbright Program. We congratulate them, and all the Fulbrighters who are making a positive impact across the world.”
NYU’s Fulbright US Student grantees for 2023-24 included a total of 16 undergraduates and 11 graduate students who were either enrolled at the university or recent alumni at the time of their selection. The following NYU schools and programs were represented among the grantees: the College of Arts and Science, the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, the Graduate School of Arts and Science, the Grossman School of Medicine, Liberal Studies, the School of Professional Studies, the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, and the Stern School of Business as well as NYU’s Shanghai and Abu Dhabi campuses.
Their study, research, and English teaching assistantships took these students and scholars to 17 countries: Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, the Czech Republic, El Salvador, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Nigeria, Oman, Portugal, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, and Tajikistan.
