Oath for Tobacco Free Environment

Aligarh : Prof Anees Ahmad, Chairperson, Department of Community Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) administered the oath for tobacco free educational institution at the Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC).

“The oath was a part of activities to raise awareness on the health issues resulting from tobacco consumption. Interns at the Department of Community Medicine participated in a poster-making competition to raise consciousness on the harms of tobacco consumption and an official notice on prohibition on smoking and other tobacco in the RHTC premises was also circulated”, said Prof Anees.

The programme was conducted under the Government guidelines for Tobacco Free Environment in Educational Institutions.
