Odisha Govt allows exams in schools, colleges

Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Tuesday said though schools, colleges, other educational, training and coaching institutions, etc., would remain closed till July 31, conduct of examinations shall be permitted during this period.

The Government further said print and electronic media identified by Commissionerate and district police would be permitted to function during the weekend shutdowns on Saturday and Sunday.

Agriculture, horticulture and allied activities, dairy, fisheries, animal husbandry and allied activities have also been permitted during the weekend shutdown.

Notably, the Government would impose the weekend shutdown in Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Baleswar and Balangir districts till June 30 to contain Covid-l9 spread.

The Government advised the following category of people against outdoor movement, except for essential and health purposes till June 30: (1) Persons above 65 years of age; (2) persons with co-morbidities; (3) pregnant women and (4) children below the age of 10 years.
