Olympus High Holds 25th Annual Athletics Meet for the Junior Wing
Saam House Declared Overall Winner
Dehradun: The 25th Annual Athletics Meet for the Junior Wing was celebrated within the school premises of Olympus High School today. The chief guests on the occasion were Dr. Kunal Shamshere Malla, Managing Director of Olympus High, and Principal Dr. Anuradha Pundeer Malla.The program commenced with the raising of the school flag and house flags, followed by the prefects’ March Past. It was then followed by a Carnival March Past, where students from different classes showcased their vibrant costumes. The students of Playgroup to Class II mesmerized the audience with their intergalactic moves titled ‘Space Odyssey’.
The first set of races then began, which included the 50m Dash (Junior Girls), 50m Dash (Junior Boys), Sledge Race, Mixed Hurdle Race, Transport Race, Animal Baby Race, Mixed Relay Race, Big Fish Race, Fill in the Basket Race, Bee Race, and Hula Hoop Race.
After the races, students performed a yoga display, demonstrating various asanas and emphasizing the importance of physical and mental well-being. This was followed by a mass drill showcased by the students of Classes IV and V.
The second set of races resumed with great enthusiasm, including the Sack Race, Building the Bridge Race, Octopus Race, Bits of Paper Race, Shuttle Relay (5×50), and Mixed Hurdles Race. Students of Class III then showcased an Umbrella PT display with splendid movements.
The parents participated in the Parents’ Race. The overall positions of the houses were announced wherein the first position was bagged by Saam House while the second and third positions were presented to Rig House and Yajur House respectively.
The program concluded with a closing March Past by the team of prefects and students of the four distinctive houses, reflecting their discipline and excitement. The winners of various events were then awarded medals and certificates in recognition of their efforts and achievements.
Dr. Kunal Shamshere Malla encouraged the participants and winners for showcasing sportsmanship and motivated the parents to continue encouraging their children.
The Principal, Dr. Anuradha Pundeer Malla, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, teachers, students, and parents for their support. She also appreciated the hard work of the organizing team, ensuring that the day was a memorable success.
