On the occasion of Hindi Divas 2022, a Kavi Sammelan program was organized in the BBA auditorium of NIT Rourkela from 05.30 in the evening. On this occasion, The Director of the Institute, Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao conveyed his best wishes to the students and the NITR community and addressed the gathering in Hindi and said, “I came from southern part of country but I try to learn languages because is the medium (sutradhar) to connect to people. It binds diversity. We must to promote our Rajbhasha to global level. I congratulate the Rajbhasha Implementation Committee of NIT Rourkela for organising and celebrating Hindi Divas.”
Eminent poets of Rourkela city graced the program in the Kavi Sammelan. Guest poets like Dr. Krishna Kumar Prajapati, Janab Gyas Anjum, Shri Shyam Somani, Shri Vasudev Chaman, Sheikh Mukhtar Rahi, and Mrs. Shakun Agarwal “Sahaj” recited their beautiful poetry. The student poets of Kalam Club (Student Literary Club, Student Activity Centre) performed on stage by presenting a poetry recitation.
During the event Registrar of the institute, Prof. Rohan Dhiman emphasized the maximum use and spread of the Hindi language. Encouraging everyone, The Assistant Registrar (Establishment) of the Institute and Hindi Officer, Mr. Uttam Kumar Biswal, discussed the history and future prospective of Hindi. The program was organized by Mr. Ravi Shankar Singh (Secretary, Rajbhasha Implementation Committee) and other members of the Rajbhasha Implementation Committee. Guest poets were felicitated during the end session of the event. The function ended with a vote of thanks to the onstage guests, guest poets, participants, and the audience for making the program a success.
