One day skill orientation Workshop on design, repair of electronic gadgets held at GDC Udhampur

 

UDHAMPUR : Science Club of Government Degree College Udhampur, in Collaboration with Departments of Physics and Electronics, today organized one day skill oriented workshop on the designing and repair of the common household Electronic items.

Around 70 students of different faculties and staff members both teaching and non-teaching participated in the workshop.

Principal of the college, Prof. Subhash Chander Sharma was the chief guest at the inaugural function while Prof. Rakesh Singh, Dr. Devi Dass, and Prof. Tawseef Ahmed Bhat were the resource persons for the workshop.

Earlier, the programme started with the keynote address delivered on the theme of the workshop by Prof. Seema Kotwal-the convener of the science club of the college. In her address, she advised the participating students to take all precautionary measures while dealing with electrical instruments and also stressed upon the need to develop scientific temper among the students and society by attending such types of workshops and programmes. She also stressed upon taking all the precautions.

Followed by the beginning of technical sessions in which resource persons gave their presentations.

The students were divided into various groups in which each group was given practical hands-on training for designing extension board, multimeter for detecting various circuit faults and basic circuit elements like resistor, capacitor, diode, charger etc.

The proceedings of the workshop were carried out under the overall coordination of Dr. Ved Kumar Department of Chemistry and Prof Kamal Kishore, HOD Physics.

The other faculty members who attended the workshop include Prof. Sarita Parihar, Dr. Sumati Anthal and Prof. Rajan Bharti, Prof Sanjeet Singh, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar

The programme was concluded with the formal vote of thanks by Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri, HOD Botany.
