One Week Training Programme Concludes

 

Aligarh : The week-long training program under the “Synergistic Training Programme Utilizing the Scientific and Technological Infrastructure (STUTI)” held in the Conference Hall of the Physics Department culminated on 24.07.2022. Around 30 participants with different disciplines from different parts of the country participated. Scientific talks on diverse topics of research were delivered by eminent speakers from AMU and other institutions/organizations.

Chief Guest of the valedictory function Prof Qudsia Tahseen, Department of Zoology, AMU, advised the participants to have critical reading and writing to pursue high quality research. She emphasized on quality publications rather than quantity publications.

Later the certificates, prizes for the winners of quiz competition and memorabilia were presented to the participants by Prof Qudsia.

Before the concluding function, Prof BP Singh, Chairperson, Physics Department and PMU Coordinator, STUTI project and Dr SSZ Ashraf delivered scientific talks.

Prof Singh presented a talk on basics of nuclear reactions and deliberated on how the early Physics people at AMU built 150 kV Cock-Croft Walton accelerators. He discussed the important tools to study the nuclear reactions and their applications.

Dr Ashraf delivered his talk on the topic “Graphene: A prototype Dirac matter” .

The participants also expressed that more programmes should be arranged on the regular basis so that early career researchers may get acquainted and discuss progress in science and its relevance to society.
