Online course on ‘Electric Vehicle Technology for Sustainable Mobility’

 

Aligarh : Faculty members, students and professionals from the industry have registered for the week long, short-term online course on ‘Electric Vehicle Technology for Sustainable Mobility’ (EVTSM) of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to understand the importance of incorporating electric vehicles in the car fleet that will benefit the environment with a reduction in air pollution. The course will conclude on February 5.

Presiding over the Inaugural session, the Chief Guest, Prof Pervez Mustajab (Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology) emphasised on the need for expertise in electric vehicles.

He also discussed opportunities, challenges and job prospects related to the field of Electric Vehicle Technology.

The electric vehicle is the need of the hour and young engineers must take up the challenges in this emerging area to have a bright future in electrified transportation, he stressed.

Prof M M Sufyan Beg (Principal, ZHCET) spoke on the trends and developments in the electric vehicle industry and why the worldwide electric vehicle industry is expected to grow.

He further spoke on the bachelor and master programs in automobile engineering, artificial intelligence, and robotics and automation at AMU.

Prof M Muzammil (Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering) deliberated the importance of electric vehicles in India.

“This is a new, attractive and challenging area of research as there is a high growing penetration of electric vehicles worldwide,” he emphasised.

Dr Sanaur Rehman conducted the program and Dr Abdullah Y Usmani extended the vote of thanks.
