Online talk on ‘Managing Transition from Campus to Corporate World’

 

Aligarh: Indian Air Force Veteran and Emeritus Professor at the Oriental University, Dr I C Gupta deliberated the importance of practical education in ensuring effective linkage between academics and industry in an online talk on ‘Managing Transition from Campus to Corporate World’ of the Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

In the keynote address, Prof Gupta explained why it is necessary for students to understand the expectations that the Industry has from them as it will help in the effective transition from campus to professional life.

He discussed the dynamics of entering the corporate world and the requisite skills to excel.

“Successfully nurturing culture involves a complex set of behaviours, values and systems that define an organisation”, said Prof Gupta.

He also answered queries of students in a special interactive session.

Discussing the importance of these programs for guiding and mentoring students, Prof Imran Saleem (Dean, Faculty of Commerce) urged students to have clear career goals, learn to manage stress, apply technology effectively, and be open to ideas and experiences and to observe all things of the corporate world.

Presenting a brief on the session, Professor Nawab Ali Khan (Chairman, Department of Commerce) encouraged students to build a solid foundation of ethos, values and best practices and to go far and beyond in achieving excellence.

Dr Mohd Nayyer Rahman coordinated the session.

Over 200 students participated in the event.
