Only 50% shops to open in Udhampur on alternate days

Udhampur: On the basis of the Assessment of COVID-19 situation in the District Udhampur, District Magistrate Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib ordered that only 50% shops in major complexes/Bazaars /Malls within the Municipal limits /Urban local bodies shall open on alternate basis through a rotation system in consultation with local market associations.
The order was issued after DM convened a meeting with Chamber of Industries and Commerce, Beopar Mandal and other major market associations of District Udhampur regarding COVID-19 market regulations.
As per the order the Chemist shops/Testing Labs/Health Clinics, Milk distribution, Sweet shops, Vegetable and fruit shops, Mutton, Chicken shops, Bakeries, Eat points, Hotels and Restaurant will be opened on daily basis.
While Cloth and readymade garments, Tailor Boutiques, footwear, Manyari and Cosmetics, Jewellery , Toys, Gift shops, Showroom of multiple items, Furniture and Furnishers, Handloom, Pooja shops, Gym and Spa, Suitcase and Bags shop, Stationery and Books , Printing presses, Photostat shall open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Similarly, the Crockery , Utensils , Karyana & Grocery, Mobile electronics, Watches eye glass and optical shops, Saw mills, Welding works, Glass shops, Hardware, Sanitary , Shuttering and shops related to building construction material , Automobile showroom and accessory shops, Cycle/Automobile repair and service stations shall open on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
The Barber and Beauty salon shops will open on Monday , while any other category shops left shall be kept in one of these groups by the concerned association after seeking approval from the DM office. Complete shutdown shall be observed on Monday for all kind of shops except Barber and Beauty Saloon.
Moreover, it has been observed that markets like Chopra shop , Rehmbal, Garhi and Majalta draw huge crowds leading to Covid violations by public .Therefore after due consultations with the respective market associations, it has been decided that these markets shall also follow the restrictions.
The DM advised the stakeholders for maintenance of proper social distancing drawing circles in front of shops, and not allowing any customer without mask to enter the establishment and wear mask while attending them and to provide sanitizers/soap to staff and customers.
Any violation of this order shall invite action under law and dealt with under relevant provisions of Indian panel code.
