OPD services at JNMC, Aligarh Muslim University to resume from July 12

 

Aligarh : The Out Patient Department (OPD) services at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will be resumed for all patients from July 12.

According to Prof Haris M Khan, Medical Superintendent, “OPDs at the departments of ENT (all days), Paediatrics (all days), Well Baby Clinic (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays), Radio Diagnosis (all days), Orthopaedic Surgery (all days), Dermatology (all days), Psychiatry (all days), General Surgery (all days), Medicine (all days), Med/ Follow up (all days), TB Chest (all days), Plastic Surgery (all days), Obstetrics and Gynaecology (all days), ANC (all days), Radiotherapy (all days), Diabetes and Endocrinology (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) and Ophthalmology (all days) will cater 70 patients a day.”

“Sports and Arthroscopy-Super specialty (Tuesdays), Tumour Clinic-Super specialty (Tuesdays), Spine Clinic-Super specialty (Thursdays), Paediatric Ortho Clinic-Super specialty (Mondays), Arthoplasty Clinic Hip and Knee-Super specialty (Wednesdays), Physiotherapy /Workshop (all days), Pain Clinic (Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays), Anaesthesiology (all days), G S Follow Up Clinic (all days), G S Special OPDs (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays), Neurosurgery (Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays), CTVS (Tuesdays and Fridays), Nephrology-Super specialty (Mondays), Rheumatology-Super specialty (Saturdays), Neurology-Super specialty (Wednesdays), G E Clinic-Super specialty (Fridays), Paediatric Surgery (Mondays and Fridays), Cardiology-Super specialty (all days) and Infertility Clinic-Super specialty (Saturdays) will have an intake of 30 patients daily,” he added.

In the line with the Government guidelines to curb the pandemic, all OPD services for new and follow-up registrations were terminated to divert the healthcare workers for Covid-19 management. Doctors at JNMC were providing tele-consultancy to all patients undergoing treatment in an effort to reduce the need for them to visit the facility. The OPDs are now opening after the Central Government allowed for restrictions to be lifted in a phased manner.
