Orchids The International School Mega Competition Series, ORCHIDS – STAR WARS
New Delhi: Orchids – The International School launched its pan India live mega competition series, ORCHIDS – STAR WARS on Saturday 18th December 2021. The first battle in this monthly series was fought in the learning strand of LANGUAGES. The pan India intra school competition with focus on STEAM Education competition will allow approximately 30000 students to participate in batches in various categories.
The academic team of Orchids conceptualised this competition series to boost the healthy competitive spirit and to drive the feeling of belonging among its students, who have been away from school during the pandemic. The students of ORCHIDS will challenge themselves in various strands of learning, viz. language, STEM, Art, Sports, etc. to win the coveted school trophy.
Orchids management team supports the 3-language policy of the National Education Policy wholeheartedly and promotes the importance of language in their curriculum and teaching techniques purposively. The ORCHIDS Student Transformation and Evolution Program committee conducts competitions at the Intra and the Zonal levels. The branches groom these National qualifiers to fight the final battle.
The event received an overwhelming response from students all across India and the first edition was concluded on a successful note. The virtual contest witnessed participation from 48+ branches of Orchids spread across cities: Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Gurgaon.
Sharing insights about the ORCHIDS – STARWARS, Dr. Kavita Nagpal, Principal, Orchids – The International School, Masjid Bunder, Mumbai said, “Conducting a national level event has not been easy under the current circumstances but the enthusiasm we have witnessed in the teaching, non-teaching staff and students was contagious”. “We, at Orchids, believe in carving fair opportunities for the scholastic stalwarts of our schools. The school motivates its students and helps them to pursue their passion by enabling the young minds to drive their dreams with confidence and determination,” she concluded.
To make the event more interesting and engaging for students, they have been grouped into 7 zones and will compete with each other in their respective zones. The toppers from each group will qualify for MEGA FINALS – NATIONAL CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS CUP that will be organized in March 2022 in Bengaluru.
