Orientation Programme of PG students Organized Online at Amity University

New Delhi: As the education institutions across the country grapple with the Covid-induced challenges and ascertain the future of students, Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP) commenced its academic session with the orientation programme of its first year Post-Graduate students. While the orientation ceremony was organized online to guide students and answer their queries, a Havan was performed at the AUUP campus to invoke the blessings on the entire student fraternity and the faculty. First year PG students and their families joined online from the safety of their homes to be a part of the Amity tradition.

Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University stated that it is the tradition of Amity to seek blessings of almighty before commencing any auspicious activity at the campus. “Today is the starting of the new session for the first-year students of PG Programmes. And it is for the first time that students are witnessing the auspicious beginning online and the staff and faculty is there to help students in every way possible,” said Dr. Shukla. She further stressed that these happenings are part of the Amity culture and will help the students in acquiring a well-rounded personality once they pass out of Amity. She asked students to stay safe, be home and continue their journey of learning till the campus re-opens and wished the students a pleasant, bright, and secure future.

Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity University averred that students should consider themselves honored to be a part of the university founded by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan who himself begins his day by seeking blessings of God and further passes them on to the Amitians. He added that Dr. Chauhan has always believed in doing things differently and that’s why the orientation at Amity begins by seeking God’s blessings and performing a Havan. He stated that Amity is not only an innovation driven university that develops scientific temperament but also helps students develop qualities of a wonderful human being.

The programme was also attended by several officials including Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, Amity University; Dr. Abhay Bansal and Dr. Manoj Pandey, Joint Directors, Amity School of Engineering and Technology; Dr. Kalpana Sharma , Director, Amity School of Physical Education and Sport Sciences. Classes will commence online for students till the campus re-opens.
