Over 2.5 lakh sensitised by DSEJ in month long awareness campaign on Scholarship Schemes; One lakh attend monthly Parent Teacher Meet
Jammu: The month long awareness campaign on Scholarship Schemes launched by the Directorate Of School Education Jammu concluded with over 2.5 lakh students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders of the summer zone schools of Jammu division being sensitized by the Counselling Cell of the Directorate.
They were updated about the eligibility criteria, procedures, formalities, benefits and other aspects of various schemes launched by the government as well as those from the private sector, for the benefit of the students.
In her message, Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, acknowledged the commitment of the Teacher Counsellors, Psychological Task Force (PTF), District Nodal Officers (DNO), District Counselling Coordinators (DCC), Zonal Counselling Coordinators (ZCC), School Nodal Officers (SNO) and Faculty Counselors in making the initiative a success. She divulged that a Parent Teacher Meet was also held on the 26th of December 2020 to ascertain the progress of the initiative and to reach out to the winter zone schools of the division,, which was attended by more than 1 lac students, parents, teachers and other staff members from all the 10 districts of Jammu Division, despite winter vacations and an intense cold wave compounding hindrances in the winter zone schools.
To sensitize the stakeholders, the Counselling Cell organised various online as well as offline activities throughout the month like counselling sessions, webinars, audio and video series by students and teachers, posters and advisories in newspapers etc.
These activities were held according to the counselling cell Callender. The Directorate will continue to organise such activities in the current year as well, said, Romesh Sharma, Incharge Counselling Cell DSEJ.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Surinder Sharma, Shanti Swaroop, preeri Sharma and Manan Mahajan, while technical support was provided by Sohail Wani.
