Over 700 students benefit from weeklong E-Counselling Sessions hosted by DE&CC Jammu
Jammu: More than 700 students participated in the series of E-Counselling Sessions organmised in past one week by District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Jammu in collaboration with the Counselling Cell of Higher Education Department for various degree colleges of Jammu District.
In this ongoing programme, students of various colleges of Jammu District have been counselled on wide range of topics like Self-Employment Schemes, Emerging trends in job market, Scholarship schemes. Employment Department has revamped the Counselling programme to online medium to ensure maximum benefit of the students amid the existing circumstances.
The Career Counselling Sessions were conducted in Govt. College of Education Jammu, M.A.M. College, GDC R.S. Pura, GDC Akhnoor & GDC Paloura.
The Counselling Sessions were conducted under the aegis of Director Employment, M.S. Choudhary, Principals of the Colleges & Deputy Director Employment, Dr. Manisha Koul. The sessions were coordinated by Nodal officers for Career Counselling in these Colleges, Jammu.
A number of topics were covered in these sessions. The resource person from DECC, Jammu, Dushant Singh, Career Counselling Officer explained about Employment Scenario in J&K and the way forward, Relevance of NCS Portal and various upcoming opportunities in Tourism and other sectors in the Union Territory.
Employment Officer, DECC Jammu, Shivali Choudhary, elaborated The Role of Psychometric Tests in choosing the right Career, Skill Development & its Role in Nation Building, Benefits of E-Learning Portal Swayam etc.
