Oxford University Press to showcase its range of Higher Education and English language titles at the Bangalore Book Festival 2018

Bangalore: Oxford University Press (OUP), the world’s largest university press, is participating in the Bangalore Book Festival to be held from October 15 to 21, at Palace Grounds in Bangalore. Displaying an array of their new and bestselling titles in the higher education and global academic space, along with digital and innovative learning solutions, OUP will be available to visit at stalls H5 and H6.

Visitors to the OUP stall can avail a chance to check out the myriad collection of books and browse through a variety of subject and domain-oriented titles, in addition to the latest bilingual dictionaries, adult English language teaching and learning material, and textbooks covering areas such as Engineering, Hospitality, Management, and Science & Commerce.

On display will be IELTS General and IELTS Academic, the two latest releases in the Adult English Language Learning space, especially curated to meet the needs of learners preparing to take the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) General/Academic test. With a focus on content based on sections/tasks in the actual IELTS Academic and General tests, the books will help learners to approach topics from the point of view of the test.

Another highlight is the latest addition to OUP’s Bilingual Dictionaries Programme – the English-English-Kannada Dictionary – all set to be released this November. With over 52,000 up-to-date entries and related phrases and idioms, the new EEK dictionary is an authoritative dictionary for students, teachers, translators, and general readers, first of its kind, with detailed translations of English definitions in Kannada, and usages in English.

As part of outreach for Higher Education titles, in focus this year will be Engineering, Management, and Hospitality titles, along with the latest releases catering to the AICTE Model Curriculum 2018, for first year B. Tech students. OUP is one of the first few publishers to have released the titles adhering to the new curriculum. The new titles launched by the Press are; Principles of Basic Electrical Engineering, English Language and Communication Skills for Engineers, Programming in C, and Programming in C.
