‘Padhai Tunhar Duar’: Benefit to more than 15.77 lakh students
Raipur: School Education, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe Development and Cooperative Minister Dr. Premsai Singh informed the media representatives through videoconferencing today that 15 lakh 77 thousand 351 school students are getting the benefit of ‘Padhai Tunhar Duar’ program. One lakh 65 thousand 245 teachers have also been connected to this portal. Dr. Tekam said that the government has decided to postpone the payment of fees of children studying in private schools. Notice has been issued to 8 private schools on the complaint of taking fees from the children.
Dr. Premsai Singh said that after the Corona outbreak, taking care of social distancing and following necessary instructions, School Education Department had put all the schools under the category of lockdown on March 13, 2020.
In order to prevent the education of school children getting effected due to the lockdown, the ‘Padhai Tunhar Duar’ program was started immediately. Under this program, the online portal was launched on 7 April by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel. This portal has been made available free of cost to all children on cgschool.in Minister of School Education informed that 7 thousand 910 videos, 188 audios, 3 thousand 477 photos, 1 thousand 754 course materials have been uploaded in the portal of ‘Padhai Tunhar Duar’ program and 78 online classes is being conducted. This portal has also been made available for higher education. The ‘Padhai Tunhar Duar’ program has been highly appreciated. He said that children of any state can join and study through this portal.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has also written a letter to the Chief Ministers of other states in this regard. Along with this, online classes have also been started through various applications by remaining constantly in contact with children. Children from class I to X are getting benefit from this online portal. He informed that this facility will be provided to the children of class 11th and 12th soon. Dr. Tekam said that in the state, children will be given admission in schools under the Right to Education Act.
Minister of School Education said that in order to follow social distancing, it was necessary that children in school should not sit together near each other and give the exam. Taking important decisions in this regard, the government has given general promotion to all the children from class I to VIII, Class IXand class XI have been given promotion to the next class.
Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam said that all children from class I to VIII have been provided dry ration for 40 days so that mid-day meal program of children should not be affected during the period of lockdown. Out of 29 lakh children in the state, 98 percent children are getting benefit of this scheme.
Minister of School Education said that in order to avoid financial burden on the parents of children studying in private schools during the lockdown period, payment of fees has been postponed in all the private schools. Also, it has been instructed that employees working in private schools should continue getting paid for the lockdown period.
More than 2200 migrants in more than 110 identified institutions of Department of scheduled castes and Scheduled tribe Development
Dr. Tekam said that keeping in mind the prevention of infection from Covid-19, instructions were given to the educational institutions as well as hostel-ashrams, specific educational institutions run by the Department of Scheduled Caste and ScheduledTribe Development in the state to be closed with immediate effect.
During the lockdown period, 257 hostels-ashrams and other residential educational institutions operated in different districts have been identified by the department for taking care of such migrant people of Chhattisgarh and other states who have failed to reach their destination and stuck on the midway..
Adequate arrangements have been made for the stay of migrant persons at these centres. With the help of District administration and local bodies, food and other facilities are being made available to them. Hostel superintendents have been instructed to support the migrant labourers. Currently more than 2200 migrant persons are staying in more than 110 identified departmental institutions.
50% of fertilizer target stored in societies
Minister Dr. Tekam informed that the procurement season 2020 has started. This year, target has been set to disburse loans of 4600 crore to about 13 lakh farmers through cooperative societies. He informed that the work of loan disbursement has been started, so far loans of 24.39 crore have been disbursed. For distribution of chemical fertilizers to farmers, a target of 6.35 lakh tonnes has been set this year for the cooperative sector. 50 percent of the target set has reached the fertilizer societies. 3.90 lakh tonnes of chemical fertilizer is currently available with marketing associations and cooperative societies. Complete arrangements of fertilizer and seeds have been made for the farmers. He informed that this year storage of all fertilizers has started in cooperative societies. Currently 1.51 lakh tonnes of fertilizer is available in cooperative societies, 1637 tonnes of fertilizer has been distributed to farmers.
Dr. Tekam said that farmers can obtain fertilizer on permits (on loan) by following social distance.
Dr. Tekam said that 6 lakh 75 metric tonnes of sugarcane have been purchased from farmers in the state. 55 crore rupees has been paid to farmers and 121 crores is yet to be paid.
