Participation in the international seminar of the Euro-Arctic region

Under the guidance of associate professor of the Institute of History, Social and Political Sciences Oksana Evgenievna Ermolaeva, first-year students of the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences took part in an international training seminar for students of the Euro-Arctic region.
The seminar, organized by the Arctic University of Norway (Kirkenes), was titled “Practices of Barents-Arctic Tourism in the Border Regions of Norway and Russia: Geopolitics, Innovation and the Transition to a Green Economy in Northern Communities during and after the Covid-19 Pandemic”.

In addition to PetrSU, the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Murmansk Arctic State University, University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, National Research University Higher School of Economics (St. Petersburg), Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce.

For three days, students listened to lectures by leading politicians, businessmen and scientists from Norway and Russia on innovative aspects of the development and management of ecological tourism in the Euro-Arctic Barents region, and at the end of the conference they presented their own projects.
